Award of Excellence - Art Gallery of Regina's Member Show and Sale

Earlier this year I submitted two paintings “Round About Here” and “Someone’s Else’s Blues” to the Art Gallery of Regina’s Member Show and Sale. Unfortunately due to the Covid 19 pandemic restrictions in Regina, the Art Gallery was unable to allow in-person visits to the show. However all of the artwork in the four major categories were available for viewing online. I am pleased to advise (and surprisingly) that I won the Award of Excellence for my painting “Round About Here”. The judges liked my precise technique of creating crisp lines, my limited pallatte of black, grey and white, and my historical reference to the Op-Art movement in the 1960’s, such as by painters like Bridgette Riley. I am very grateful to the judges and the Art Gallery of Regina for this award. Their recognition of my art work is certainly validation of my efforts in the creation of this art.
